The Media Reform Coalition works with partner organisations and supporting individuals to fight for a democratic and accountable media system. Founded in 2011, the MRC has spent the last decade campaigning for a media that serves the interests of the public, not a handful of billionaires.
Our main activities are:
Research: We conduct research on media ownership and coverage, and the impacts of policy frameworks, to inform decision-makers and develop policy in the public interest.
Engagement: We engage our supporters and partners through meetings and events, including the annual Media Democracy Festival, and through blogs and our newsletter.
Campaigning: We work with partners to lobby decision-makers and mobilise the wider public around key questions of media ownership and accountability.
